Three Cheers for Video!

Wowie kazowie, what a nice feature on Handmade Success from the lovely and talented Bianca Filoteo from Video for Shy People! One of my goals in my business this year was to connect with my wonderful Ana Apple community more closely through the use of videos. I’ve been bringing you glimpses into fun events, DIY tutorials, and special announcements, and have even more in the works for the months to come!

Preparing for a backyard interview with Grama Alma about her knitting group for the Sharing is Caring program page.

As you’ve noticed, some are quick and dirty (and some are just silly), shot on my trusty smartphone at events or on the run, and others have a bit more production quality. And there’s always room for improvement, so thanks for bearing with the ums and the occasional wayward glance. The important thing is that I am committed to connecting with the people who have supported our company’s journey every step of the way.

That’s why Bianca’s 30-Day Courage for the Camera Video Challenge has been such a great exercise in making video a regular part of our routine in the Ana Apple studio. We kicked it off last week with a nice feature on Grama Alma and will be bringing you juicy behind the scenes coverage from GOOD (one of our favorite events) this Sunday!

Here’s what we’re working on next:

  • The Good, The Rad + The Indie: Let’s peek into the worlds of people we admire — artists’ workspaces, vegan chefs’ kitchens, cyclists’ garages…
  • Sunday Supper: Easy family-friendly recipes to celebrate fresh, local produce and encourage themed entertaining year-round!
  • More DIY Tutorials: We love making. We do it every day. Time to share more of the wealth. Why should we have all the fun?

Feel free to comment on what topics you would like to see in upcoming videos, and if you give us a zinger of a suggestion, we’ll send a little Ana Apple swag your way! Now off to make more movie magic :)
